| ICCI developed or acquired remote data centers in a number of cities across the nation. These remote sites, which were connected by high speed communication lines to the central computer system, were able to constantly poll teller terminals connected to the remote computer site to see if they had transactions to be processed. If so, the remote data center would process the transaction and then pass it on to the Central Processor. The Central Processor would accept the transaction, record the information into the customers data files and then send back an acknowledgment through the network to the teller terminal located in a Credit Union or Saving & Loan location. All this was accomplished in nanoseconds. Today we take this process for granted, but at that time ICCI helped pioneer the technology. | ||
